December thoughts

   A snowy day of December ( a very snowy day :)))
   It's the perfect time for sitting next to the window with a cup of coffee and thinking... That's what I'm doing for the last 2 hours and I haven't even felt how the time has passed by.

   Do you know this feeling when everything looks so estranged, like you're living someone else's life? You look around and nothing is familiar, there's nothing that'd be close to your heart. It's actually kind of sad... The only good thing is that the tournament will start soon (2 more days!!!) and my head won't be so full of depressing thoughts. In these moments one has the tendancy to deprive by starting having some bad habbit like drinking,smoking or whatever. I guess the answer is to call a good friend and to go out in some chill cafe and to talk it all out.

   I'm thinking about having a walk through the Timisoara's center, there's a Christmas Market there and it's so nice- all those lights can instantly make one feel better. Aaah! I've also remembered about the hot wine with cinnamon... 

   Yeah, I should definetely have a walk and maybe even get into a snow fight :DDD

Scent of chess

   I spent one amazing afternoon with the Foisor family yesterday. It's so cool when everything is about chess, even when enetering their house I could smell the scent of chess ;)
   Imagine, a cold December afternoon, sitting at a table next to a chimney, drinking some home-made "visinata" (something like liquer) and playing blitz... What can be better? I always wondered how would it be if my parents were professional chess players and I found it out yesterday :) I would like to be like them once, it's the life I've always imagined for myself :)

Simul on 100 boards in Timisoara

   I've attended a very nice event this afternoon. There was organized a simul on 100 boards in Timisoara. It was given by the local masters and grandmasters Sergiu Grunberg, Cristina Foisor, Vladislav Nevednichy, Alin Berescu, Mihai Grunberg and Ovidiu Foisor. There were so many kids! It was really nice to see all of them being eager to play! :)

   The event had the purpose to rise founds for the recovery of  the Woman Grand Master - Gabriela Olarasu.    I've arrived in Timisoara last night. I'm here for an Open which will start on the 10th of December, until then, I will enjoy the beauty of my favorite city in Romania :)

London Chess Classic

   It's a very interesting day for us, chess kibitzers. There are two major chess events taking part these days- Tashkent Grand Prix and London Chess Classic.
   In the first one- the Tashkent Grand Prix- Morozevich and Mamedjarov are leading with 6 points out of 10. They both won their today's games against Leko and respectively Karjakin. You can follow the event on the official site: http://tashkent2012.fide.com/en/main-page
   In the second one-London Chess Classic- Carlsen and Kramnik are leading with 2 points out of 2. They play against each other today and Kramnik seems to have a better position.

   Magnus Carlsen is very close to break Kasparov's rating record- 2851. Magnus has an impressive 2855 live rating. If he will continue to show his very high chess quality of games until the end of the tournament he may become the highest ranked player ever on the next rating list.

Heart of ice

   Relationships between chess players... It's a subject which I was thinking about lately and which I've discussed with some friends. It's a natural thing to be with someone alike-with someone who has the same interests with you, but can it really work in a long term perspective?
   The most relationships between chess players where the man plays stronger-they tend to go wrong at some point. I think that the problem is that men put chess ahead of everything, even of their girlfriends. We all want to be appreciated for what we do, we want to feel that we're women, we want to feel at least sometimes the same magic we felt when started dating "the" guy. Most of the men don't understand it, they take everything as given, they don't realize that they can lose us even if we've been together for years. Everything is nice at the begining, no effort is inquired-just enjoy it! The problems come after some time, when men think that they've got us and there's nothing more they should do...
   On the other hand, dating a guy who's completely out of chess is also kind of difficult. They tend to divinize us, which feels very nice initially but gets annoying afterwards. They also don't understand why we keep travelling to so many tournaments and why we spend hours and hours in front of the chess board...
   Of course, there are exceptions too,but these are the most common situations.
   My conclusion is that one should try her best to obtain what she wants by herself, not carrying what the man she's with thinks about it. I mean come on, they've been wrong for so many times, what makes you think that it's not the same now?
   The ideal situation would be not to get involed until you achieve what you wanted, but as it's quite impossible, just never forget what YOU want in the first place and even if no one believes you can do it, the most important thing is for you to believe it!

   It's been an amazing week-end! We managed to win our both matches,the first one with a 4-2 score and the second one with 5-1 :)
   It's always fun to come to Germany for Bundesliga. It's really important to have a nice atmosphere in the team, the ones that had it proved to show better results :)

Black day for Bulgarians

   Anna Ushenina is the new World Women's Champion! She won the tie-break against Antoaneta Stefanova today. The first game was a draw, but she won the 2nd one.
   I am in Stuttgart right now,for the Bundesliga. I won very nicely today's game, against a 2200 player and the team also managed to win, though not without luck, Adriana Nikolova lost and Lyubka Genova managed to save an ending with a pawn down... It looked like it was an unlucky day for the Bulgarians...
   Here's my game:

    We went to a nice Italian restaurant afterwards. We had a lot of fun while drinking "Lady's beer" and listening to music, gossiping... Actually, when the waiter came with the drinks he asked us "Lady's?" and we started laughing like crazy when I said "No?!" :DDD
    There's also an a little bit dissapointing thing- Deep Purple is performing tonight in Stuttgart, but as we have the round tomorrow, at 9 am, there was no chance to go :( No smoke on the water tonight :))
