The Tradition

Many interesting things are happening at the Romanian League.

I have managed to convince my pieces that it's better to stay with me than to desert and I've won the last 4 games, scoring 4p/5. Our team has got the "4-0 virus" and we've won all the matches since the last post. There are two more rounds to go and I hope that we'll keep the lead!
The main drama is happening in the men section, where the "favorite teams" are slashing each other with no mercy. You can check the results here: http://chess-results.com/tnr150050.aspx?lan=1
As you might know, it was my birthday yesterday- I've turned 21 yo... I don't feel any different but I'm really happy that I spent it here, among friends and in such a nice chess atmosphere. I have a tradition- I win every game I play on my birthday (no matter of the strength of the opponent) since I'm a little kid. Yesterday was no exception and it made my day even better! Maybe I have to play against Carlsen next year, who knows, maybe "the tradition" will frighten even him :D

"The Match" is keeping everyone under pressure- the first thing I do after I finish my games is to check the result. Honestly, I didn't expect the match to be so interesting and Anand's win was definitely a surprise to me! I am not cheering for any of the sides, I just enjoy this beautiful chess battle!
After all, it's a beautiful life the life of a chess professional!

Wish you all a nice evening!

1 Square Meter

Summer ended quite a few days ago, but it feels that it still hasn't left.
What has changed in these 9 days? Hit-nay, no tournaments-nay, late morning coffee- check, game after game-check, white clothes-check, late summer evenings-check :))) So, it is still summer!
Well, on a more serious basis- I am actually playing another tournament, this time- a round-robin in Romania, Braila- "Maria Albulet Memorial". You can check it here- http://chess-results.com/tnr143698.aspx?lan=27&art=2&turdet=YES&flag=30&wi=984
It is a nice feeling- playing each game (especially after the Turkish League, where I played only 6 games out of 13).

A big break will follow after this tournament, with no games to play until the end of October. I will finally have some time to process what has happened in the last 75 crazy days :)))
One would say that it's not normal to play so much in a row and I totally agree, but what to do- have to earn for those square meters- 1sq meter at a tournament, another one at the next 2 ones and maybe they will add up in some 20 years :))))
All in all, I greet each of you from my still ongoing summer and wish you all a nice week!

P.S. Happy Birthday to my dear mom!

Sweet 20's

Half of the tournament has already passed in no time.
These last few days have been very tense... It's been not easy at all to play on the 1st board and I am pretty satisfied with my 50% (2,5p/5). I think it is worth to mention that since I've turned 20 yo I haven't lost a game :))) though I was really close...
The last 2 days have been absolutely fantastic and I want to thank for this my amazing friends and teammates who've made me feel really special!
Tomorrow is a free day and I think that I will visit the Old City and learn for my Management online exam, which I will have to pass in some days :D
Our team goes neither good nor bad- we won 2 matches, made 2 equals and lost one match.
I really like this tournament and Warsaw of course! I don't understand why official events are not organized every time in big cities! It feels so much better to be in the center of life!
More impressions to come tomorrow, as for now- here are some photos from my yesterday's birthday party (which was by far the best one!).

xoxo from Warsaw! ;)
