Summer Breeze

These long summer days with their lazy breeze... With the eyes barely opened and the hot sun fondling my skin I dream about, hm, about- well, I actually live my dream!
The days of me being a professional chess player have finally come, no more University concerns, no more chains holding me back, I live the life I've always dreamed of. What a fantastic feeling, waking up and not being sure if I still dream or this really is my life :D
Ah, I've remembered, our team- "Politehnica Iasi" has become the new Romanian Rapid Club Cup winner as well! Not a bad start of the summer season, right? ;)

Team "Politehnica Iasi": Vlad and Andrei Ungureanu, Alina l'Ami, Vasile Manole, myself, Vladimir Danilov, Ioana Gelip (photo credits: https://thinkingsquares.wordpress.com/)
A short trip to the UK has opened my unchained phase of life! It was so nice to see my sister and to spend quality time together! The chess part of the trip was not the best one, but it was not the main goal, so there's not much to complain about :)
Many tournaments and many dreams coming true are ahead and I can finally say that I am happy! You can envy me for having a job which is actually the thing I love the most- playing chess while traveling around the World! Right now I envy a bit myself so I'll try to make this feeling last as much as possible ;)
While closing my eyes and letting the sun invade my thoughts, here are some pictures that bring the smile on my face every time I see them:

Peace and a fantastic summer to all of you!

Pixelated

What happens when your dreams come true?
That's a question I've been asking myself lately, as the things I used to say "how fine would it be if..." seem to become real after forgetting I even said them. I guess it's just an usual way of
progressing, though I think that one should take a moment of reflection on these things every now and then. You may consider yourself unlucky or beaten by fate, but maybe it's just your dreams that were too small or thought too abstract.
There are a lot of things I dream about, but there are not so many moments when I visualize them coming to reality. This is a reason why I like jogging so much- the more- the better. That's the time when I get alone with my thoughts, hopes, dreams, fears and plans. Kilometer after kilometer the image gets more and more pixelated. A 10 km jog is the best way of figuring out what to do next for me...
As for now, Cappelle la Grande is next :) My last tournament was the "Groningen Open", in December, so France will play the role of the season-opener (hopefully a good one!).

Stay tuned for news and impressions from Cappelle!

Faith Vampires

There are very few calm moments in this life.
When you think that everything's good and you are finally satisfied by how things go something happens in order to remind you that your life depends too much on things you can't control.
I don't know how about you, but I like making plans, knowing what I have to do, what I am expected to do and work after that to make it happen. I am a very responsible person and when I am engaged in making something I do my best to complete the task. I don't understand why some people enjoy ruining my plans and my hard work. Why some don't want to make compromises?
I am a student at a normal University. I chose to study on distance, in order to have enough time for the thing I love the most- chess. The attendance at courses is not compulsory, so I just have to pass partial and final exams and to make projects. But somehow, the last year of the degree is special- they think that a student is so desperate to finally finish his studies that it would be normal to change the "not compulsory attendance" to courses. The professor said- "But it's not compulsory, you'll just repeat the year if you don't come. Maybe you'll be able to find time for this next year." Why don't they respect their own rules? I would never engage in something I knew I couldn't complete.
What to do now? There's nothing to be done but accept their new rules and make sacrifices that I would never make if I knew everything from the beginning.
And how am I supposed to believe there are no vampires with so many people enjoying their power over others and getting satisfaction from sucking your nerves, blood and from draining you of all your energy, dreams and faith?

Psycho killer

A day, a week, a month, a year, a decade passes by and finally- it all ends.
Does it really matter if that's been a week or a decade? Does it change anything? It doesn't- there's an end to everything and there's a pretty big probability that there doesn't even exist a something after the end.
We kill our days with doubts, regrets, self-destruction, useless pain until there's left nothing worth killing.
I kill the days, the weeks, the months, the years and maybe the decades because there are dimples worth seeing, because there are holding hands worth admiring and there are glances worth being felt.
We're all psycho killers because we kill feelings, dreams and hopes every day.
We believe that we kill something because it's the right thing to do, but the murderers believe the same thing. Why are we better than the murderers?
They all know that the biggest sin is the suicide- what about murdering our own feelings, dreams and hopes? Isn't it a suicide too?
And who's the psycho killer after all- the guy who makes audiences because he's responsible of one massacre or you- the one responsible for mass slaughters of dreams, hopes, feelings and the one who commits suicides every day of his living?
